Mental Health Awareness: Ending the Stigma on Campus
One out of five college students is affected by mental illness. It’s a growing problem across college campuses. Having informed and prepared faculty along with students can help keep mental health resources available on campus.
Join GPTC’s own Dr. Laklieshia Izzard, a member of our psychology faculty, at any one of three presentations about ways faculty and students can be more aware of the tools available to foster a culture of acceptance for those who live with mental illness.

Laklieshia Izzard, Ed.D. LPC, ACS, NCC, is the 3rd Founding President for the American Counseling Association of Georgia. Dr. Izzard has over a decade of community mental health counseling experience with diverse populations. She is the owner of Shekinah Counseling providing services in virtual counseling, training, supervision and career consulting. In addition to counseling experience and services, Dr. Izzard is an affiliate professor at Ohio Christian University and an adjunct professor of psychology at Georgia Piedmont Technical College.
