CLARKSTON, Ga. – Fourteen students enrolled in summer classes at Georgia Piedmont Technical College are enjoying a little extra money in their college accounts, thanks to scholarship funds disbursed by the school’s foundation. The GPTC Foundation has awarded a total of $12,500 in scholarships this semester and while three of the scholarship recipients qualified for more than one award, the average payout is $500 per student. As part of their scholarship application process, the students are required to write Thank You letters to the donors and/or the Foundation.

Winner of both the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) Scholarship and the GPTC Achievement Award, computer information studies student Jacob Webb said, “I want to say thank you for choosing me and investing in my future. You will not be disappointed in your choice, in fact, you will be rejoiced as I will continue doing bigger and better things in life.”
